WHAT: In the study conducted by the City of Toronto in the development of the “Workplace Modernization Program”, 95% of employees answered that they wanted to continue working from home. As a result, the number of desks was reduced from 1.3 to 1.7 employees per desk, which meant that one could reduce the office space by 33% (based on 13 sqm of space per desk).
SO WHAT: Public activities are starting to increasingly see the opportunities to cut down on expensive office space in favour of meeting employees’ needs and wishes. When the ratio between the number of employees increases and the office space drastically decreases, greater demands are created on filling premises with well-thought-out functions.
